Monks Cafe Flemish Red Brown | ABV: 5.5% | Full. 33cl
Monk's Café, a fresh and mildly sour old brown.
When Jan Baptist De Bruyne expanded the agricultural activities to brew beer in 1784, Brouwerij Van Steenberge was founded. The first beer developed by Jan Baptist was an old brown, stored in oak barrels and distributed in the local, own cafes. The brewery was given the name 'De Peer' because of the typical fruit aroma in the beers. Later, the logical step towards pilsner beers followed under the influence of the 'lager beers' in the world wars, but Brouwerij Van Steenberge has only really excelled in specialty beers in recent decades.
