BZART Kriekenlambiek originated from the bringing together of two glorious traditions, the Méthode Traditionnelle for sparkling wines and the spontaneous fermentation for lambic beers.

 

The result is a natural, sparkling cherry lambic beer of Belgian origin. Traditional Kriekenlambiek is a spontaneously fermented beer in which real cherries are added to Lambiek, the oldest of the Belgian beers still in existence, which may have originated around 1300.

 

The 'Kriekenlambiek Oud Beersel', which serves as the basis for the BZART Kriekenlambiek, contains 400 g of cherries per liter that ferment on Lambic for six months. This cherry lambic is bottled with the addition of the 'liqueur de tirage' which consists of sparkling wine yeast and sugar for secondary fermentation.

 

The beer then matures in the bottle for at least nine months before being finished according to the 'Méthode Traditionnelle'. This process produces fine carbon dioxide that is enclosed in the bottle and makes the cherry lambic sparkling. By applying the 'remuage' and the 'dégorgement', the present yeasts are removed from the bottle.

Typical for Bzart Kriekenlambiek is that before applying the final cork and muselet to the bottle, no sweetening takes place by adding a 'liqueur d'expédition'. This results in a BRUT sparkling cherry lambic beer with an overwhelming taste palette.

 

BZART CREAM LAMBIE is very 'fraîcheur' in taste and aftertaste. The almond notes revive, among other things, memories of the real cherry pie from the good old days. It is a wonderful aperitif and is wonderful with black chocolate dishes, with blue cheeses,
